Mora County Clerk of Court Split

The State Court Structure Map identifies the primary clerk page as Clerk of Court, but Mora County uses a split in practice. The state court clerk maintains court case records for District Court and Magistrate Court matters. The Mora County Clerk is a county officer whose official page lists county records, document recording, voter registration, elections, deeds, mortgages, affidavits, survey plats, marriage licenses, meeting minutes, resolutions, ordinances, and county public-records requests.

This split is the most important fact for Mora County Clerk of Court requests. A divorce decree, criminal complaint, judgment and sentence, civil complaint, docket entry, magistrate traffic file, or District Court order should be requested through New Mexico Courts, the court clerk, Case Lookup, re:SearchNM, or the court IPRA form. A marriage license copy, recorded deed, commission minute, county ordinance, county election record, or county IPRA request should go to the Mora County Clerk.

Use that county page for county clerk records, not as a substitute for the state court clerk when the record is a court case file.

The county clerk responsibilities include:

• Recording and maintaining county records and recorded documents.
• Handling deeds, mortgages, affidavits, survey plats, and related land records.
• Issuing and maintaining marriage license records.
• Maintaining meeting minutes, resolutions, ordinances, and county public records.
• Registering voters and working elections for Mora County.

Mora County Clerk of Court Records

Court clerk records use state court channels. The Fourth Judicial District public-records page routes users to the New Mexico Courts IPRA form, New Mexico Case Lookup, and public access systems. 5. Pay the official fee and ask whether pickup, mail, or another delivery method is available for that record.

The state court IPRA form has visible fields and should be used for court case records when online lookup is not enough.

Court clerk fees are published separately by the Fourth Judicial District and apply to District Court and Magistrate Court records, filings, packets, and copy services.

Payment access does not mean every record can be ordered online; certified records still need the correct custodian and copy process.

The New Mexico court fines and fees payment vendor is tied to court payments, not Mora County Clerk document recording.

Use the payment vendor only when the court or citation directs payment there. Copy requests and record inspections still follow court clerk, county clerk, Probate Court, or IPRA channels.

IPRA gives a right to inspect public records unless an exception applies, but it does not make sealed, confidential, juvenile, or protected case records public. District Court civil records are generally presumed public under Rule 1-079 NMRA unless sealed by order or protected by law.
